Do birthdays make you happy? And if they do- have you ever wondered why? We know that Birthdays for some are not very happy occasions-and many would rather forget that it's their Birthday all together. But why?
Lets take the first question, why do bdays make us happy? We believe that it is because we are being placed in the limelight, given special attention, and because we receive lots of gifts as well. It is our day to say, "Hey, I really do matter!" It feeds your soul and it feeds your self esteem when there is a support base or system that does this for you. It definitely gives you a boost of life energy to want to continue to pursue who you are and who you are becoming.
Second question- why are birthdays not a very happy occasion for some? We believe that is because of possible traumatic events that happened and are associated with their bday's. Then, they assigned meanings that some have attached to those events that do not allow them to acknowledge their bdays because it is connected to very painful feelings. It could have been a death of a loved one, a major break-up, or a highly embarrassing moment. Can you think of any other reasons?
Third- why do some people not even want to think about celebrating their bday? We believe this has to do with age, older age that is...not out of not wanting to really celebrate their bday, but because they have an attitude of gratitude for everyday that they get to live.
Life is unique in that we can choose to feel how we want to feel about anything- even bdays. We tend to feel that we can't overcome the trauma because we've owned it for so long, but it is Still just a choice! You can empower yourself to enjoy everyday as if it was your bday because it is!
With that said, "Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
