It's been inspiring to see people coming together to celebrate the love of family and friends! I strongly believe that we are getting back to treating each other like the miracles that we are. Each one of us can place magical value in each other because we come from the same miracle of creation which unites us in eternity. The answer is always Love!
Let's keep the momentum going! We can all do something to prevent someone from feeling like they are all alone in this vast and abundant world! A smile, a happy and sincere hello, a hug, a job, a cup of cocoa, a piece of bread, a small chore, a simple wave, and a look of compassion!
With that said, "Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
With lots of Love-
Never Quit! As long as you have a breath in you, don't give up! Have you ever had anyone tell you that? I have and maybe you have too! I've heard that even when I was young and I didn't want to hear it. There were times when I just wanted to quit! But every time I tried to quit, there it was, that familiar speech again- "Don't quit, don't ever quit- you don't have the right to quit, we need you!" Talk about the guilt, didn't want it , but it helped like magic. Something in my brain was triggered and sent some type of keep going at all costs signal to my body every time I heard "the speech" keeping it going until the next needed fuel like speech.
Who's given you those magical speeches? If you've had them, then somehow somewhere, you too were graced with a guardian angel to watch over you. I call it a guardian angel because that's what I was raised to understand this special energy to be, but you may call it something else which is okay. I think we've had that experience where we wonder what that energy is that protects us or watches over us. I know I have! I have had times where the world seemed to have fallen hard on my shoulders like a ten ton elephant, but I still felt the calm of that energy telling me that everything is going to be okay. I found myself getting out of a situation somehow someway and feeling as if the sun would rise even brighter!
I believe that a higher power, an everlasting spirit of love works through people to serve as Earthly guardian angels. I have been told that I was someone's guardian angel because I said or did something that made a significant difference in someone's life, but the spirit just worked through me as it had done with other people to help me along on my journey. This everlasting beautiful energy is forever present and you can tap into at anytime that you need to. This is something that is in agreement with even the greatest science minds of this world.
So if you have ever doubted in keeping your faith alive, I urge you not too give up- never quit believing in the spirit that lives within us and works through us to be the guardian angels we need to be for each other.

With lots of Love,
Hello my friends and family.
I wanted to offer more information about the youth empowerment books I have found a passion to write about. You may ask, “What qualifies him to write about these topics?” Well, besides working in the public school system for over 15 years as a school counselor and assistant principal, I have also lived such a colorful life that has granted me much appreciation for the resilient human spirit.
My great appreciation for good writing was also ignited when I was working at WildStorm Productions with comic book legends such as Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, and Scott Williams. Shortly after my brother in law Whilce Portacio invited me to join the studio, Jim Lee granted me an opportunity to become an editor on one of his many great titles, “Union”. I learned and gained a huge appreciation for the writing and creative process. I was surrounded by many great creative minds. I instantly knew that I wanted to become a writer when I grew up.
Actually, my goal of writing books for children was born even before I graduated High School. I remember always looking for books that I could relate to, but to no avail. Like many people, even today, I wondered why there weren’t many books out there with characters that had names like mine or that looked like me. Because of the struggles that I faced early in my life, I also looked for answers to my many questions about life in books for understanding and didn’t find any. I didn’t ask family
members, teachers, or other adults due to fears of being shamed and feeling like I would be labeled as a trouble maker.
I know that there are several good books out there now, but I wanted to add to the availability. I wanted to write
stories where not only it would be an entertaining story, but that it absolutely carried a life lesson. Because I love and respect the counseling profession immensely, I even took it a step further; I wanted to devote a whole chapter to the school counseling process so that students could get a front row glimpse of what they could expect if they were ever asked to meet with a counselor. The unfortunate stigma that is still attached to going to the “office” for many, still means that they must be in trouble when it isn’t the case at all. I wanted to debunk this view and shine a bright light on the wonderful work that counselors do in the school setting.
I am a realist and know that it takes time and tons of marketing to get a huge publisher and distributor for your book to get into mainstream and into the schools, but my passion to get them into the hands of our children keeps me optimistic that this will happen soon. In my mind, I already saw them on many
book shelves; kindle fires, iPads, smart phones, and PC’s, so I know it’s only a matter of time that I will be asked to show up for a book signing somewhere. I have seen the smiles of the kid’s faces as they read along with the books and have seen their hopes be raised by the words on the pages. I have seen lives transformed and I have seen others want to become writers in their own right! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with you.
With lots of Love,
How can we ultimately keep our children safe at school, at a mall, at a theatre, etc.? Or can we? How do we put their backpacks on them and send them off to school knowing that they will be going to a safe place? Can we expect to send our kids out the door wearing a bullet proof vests from now on? Or maybe all civilians should be getting fitted for their own life saving vest device before stepping out into the world?
These questions seem to be rational and not as far fetched after seeing all of the statistics of re-occurring violent acts that have recently happened around the nation.
I have seen this question asked several times by parents and the experts on TV after witnesssing the horrific events at Newtown, Ct. The other question is, should we have armed personnel at the school at all times? Are more guns the answer? Are less guns the answer? We have now been forced to address these questions head on because you cannot put a price on any life, let alone on the lives of 20 innocent children!
So many questions, so confused- so many minds feeling numb from the fear and dis-belief. Is this really happening to our towns, cities, and our nation? Why? Why so much disregard for self and for the life of innocent people? Where is that line that was drawn between humanity and morality? Why is it so easy to cross now? Where did we go wrong? Aren't we attending church more often and putting our faith in God so much more? Aren't we more connected now that we have smart phones, facebook, and twitter?
How long will these feelings of anger and grief last? Are we just to forgive and move on as if nothing happened? Something tragic happened! It really did happen, but what do we do about it? Do we wait for the Government to tell us how to proceeed, do we trust in the church officials when they tell us to place our faith in the hands of God, or do we just wait to see what else happens? How can we ease the fears of the little child that doesn't have anyone to really talk to or for the child that wants to talk to someone, but there is noone because they have no budget for a counselor in the schools?
We don't know what all the solutions are, but I will offer some that I believe are helpful and needed if we are to make a positive difference in society. You have every right to agree or disagree of course!
1. Bring Back School Counselors Now!!
Nope, no counselor(s) in some schools- and if there are any, they are usually tied up with having to go from school to school, supervision, paperwork, meetings, etc., because they are the only one there for a case load of 900 to over a thousand students. Yes, its difficult to quantify how much motivation, inspiration, self confidence, self esteem, aspiration, and love of school is directly a result from meeting with a school counselor, but it happens! Haven't you ever felt great after having an inspirational meeting with someone you really respect and trust? Real school counseling is not a service that should be provided at the expense of trying to raise test scores either. School districts have to figure out how to meet the social/emotional needs of the kids and not assume that because they have a cheerful positive teacher, they are getting their social/emotional needs met. School counselors are trained professionals to help facilitate a true analysis of what needs a student might have. They are the bridge between parents and the schools when it comes to discussing important issues that may arise in their child's life. Building rapport and creating a safe environment is something that a professional school counselor is trained to do. They usually are the people that kids deliberately seek out when things on their shoulders get too heavy to carry by themselves. Hire ME I'm Available!
2. Open Up Your Heart and Really Listen
Are we really paying genuine attention to how others are really feeling? Are we
taking the time to ask, listen, and validate how someone is really feeling?
Have we stopped to look, acknowledge, and offer help to someone that seems that they need it? Stop and ask yourself, "How am I feeling? Am I any condition to offer good advice to anyone or do I even have the patience to listen to someone else's problems." Many of you are natural born care takers and will immediately say, "Duh", doesn't everyone do that? The answer is no. Test it for yourself when your around friends or colleagues. Wait to see how many truly ask you how you are doing and then wait to see if you feel if they truly care. If you get one out of 5, you are doing great! Make it a conscious effort to ask someone how they're doing and look at them with a gleem of sincerity and see if they open up a bit. If they do, just listen- don't offer any solutions unless they ask for your opinion, but just listen. Then share a bit about yourself or as much as you are comfortable sharing.
3. TELL SOMEONE ASAP
If someone is very comfortable with you and offers any information that they may want to hurt themselves or others, TELL SOMEONE! I know that its hard to know at times whether or not someone is just joking or saying things to be cool, it doesn't matter- TELL SOMEONE! Tell someone that can help that is. Let your parents know, a school counselor, principal, nurse, psychologist, teacher, police officer, social worker, another adult you trust with what you were told. Just TELL SOMEONE!!Don't worry about getting in trouble, if anything, most people will appreciate and respect the fact that you are helping someone out.

With Lots of Love and Respect,
Getting Back To Love!
Two days ago I asked the question, What gives you hope?"
"With Respect and Love to Those who were affected by the senseless acts of violence today!"
What gives me hope today, is that I have a renewed sense of purpose in wanting to share helpful knowledge and skills that I have acquired over many years of working with people in a counseling capacity or learning from mentors to help others better understand themselves and why they do the things they ultimately choose to do!
Humans either move toward pleasurable events or move away from painful events that they face in life! The "how" they move is the key question!
How do you proceed toward love when all you know is hate? How do you trust when you were brought up by maltreatment and learned to mistrust? How do you share, when you've never had much? The list can grow and many people have quarreled thoughts about those things on a daily repetitive loop in their mind.
This constant loop of mostly irrational thoughts can play havoc on one's mind depending on the environment, level of intoxication, or stress levels! There is no doubt that this has happened to me and I have had to develop a coping mechanism!
I had to figure out A way to flush all the toxic thinking and replace it with enduring high tech performing thoughts if I wanted to survive! Was it hard to do so at times? You bet skippy! But people from the community who showed me love made my days bearable! They would add coins to my hopeometer as author Maime McCullough described it! The more love I got from people, the stronger my hopeometer gauge would read! To give hope is to give life- and I truly believe we can Get Back to Love! With that said, "Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
With Love always,
What gives you hope?
3 Questions to ask yourself!
1. Do I have something to look forward to for tomorrow?
If you can't answer, please go an a search to find something! Even something as simple like having air to breathe!
2. Do I have someone I can share my hopes with?
It really helps to have someone you can trust and share what gives you joy about what you're looking forward and hopeful for.
3. How does hope help me?
Hope gives you a real spark of energy that gives you courage to do some things that you might not do otherwise. For example, lets just say that you are out camping and you get lost or disconnected from your group during the night. Your attitude of having hope of being found may very well be the difference between life and death! Be hopeful- have faith and the universe finds a way to help you!
Wih that said, "Put a Little MaxPower into your life!"
Although I totally agree that by thinking positive thoughts, we can start to change the way we see and behave in the world, the fact remains that we usually think on an average of about 60,000 thoughts a day that can cloud our thinking. The thoughts that dominate our minds are usually thoughts that we have preprogrammed in our mind and use to function with over 95% accuracy.
So think about it, if we start to consciously think positive thoughts, one, maybe two a day or even a thousand, how can those thoughts compete with the other 50,000 plus thoughts that you think about. Granted, that half of those thoughts may be positive, but the other half may be negative and limiting thoughts.
So, then it is true that in order to form new sustainable effective positive thoughts, we have to make it a practice of purposely planting new thoughts in our sub-conscious mind, where the fertile soil awaits. Our subconscious mind awaits for the new thoughts and the more belief and energy you give them, the more they will take root in your mind. Just like a garden, the soil doesn't care what you plant in it, it just goes to work on giving it life. It is the law of life, what so ever you sow, you shall reap.
These are 3 strategies that I use for your new thoughts to take root in my subconscious mind in order to create the life I want that you can easily use also.
1. Meditate- I like to meditate as often as I can. In meditation, you can get in tune with the calmness inside of you and release some of the negative and limiting thoughts that prevent us from having clarity. I also use it to replace old thoughts with new powerful thoughts. This takes practice and dedication. I usually like to meditate before I go to sleep becasue your subconscious mind is still working even while you sleep. If you don't know how, there are many guided meditation videos on youtube you can start using immediately. There are also numerous books in your library that will teach you how to meditate.
2. Read- I find that when I read books that interest me, it gives me new perspectives on things that I may have been seeing in a negative way. For instance, I wanted to change my financial situation from having a limited income to an abundant one, I chose books on that subject and went to work on taking notes and learning about the system of acquiring abundance. It actually added new thoughts to my sub-conscious about the possibility of being prosperous. Thoughts I never had before.
3. Model People Who Think Differently- I actively watch and read about successful people because I know that if they have done it, so can I. I learn from their philosophies and methods. Remember that if you surround yourself with negative and pessimistic people, you will find yourself feeling and thinking the same way and in turn, you are adding more negative stuff to your sub-conscious. On the contrary, if the people you are learning from are confident, optimistic, and think positively, chances are that you too will be filling your sub-conscious mind with the same mindset.
I wish you all success always! I will be publishing an eBook on this topic with more tips and strategies soon. With that said, "Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
With lots of Love,
Do you believe in Miracles?
Hello Friends and Family,
I wanted to ask you humbly, "Do you believe in Miracles?"
As a youngen, I always wondered who was really responsible for creating miracles in people's lives. I had heard about God, Jesus, and Mother Mary from heaven having something to do with these so called miracles. I wondered about it so much because at one time, I had stopped believing in miracles...I had fallen into a deep victim mentality because of all the challenges of my youth.
-My mom died when I was five
-My dad was an alcoholic and couldn't take care of me and my sibblings
-I was taken in by my aunt who didn't speak english and never went to school
-We lived in poverty and scarcity
-Violence surrounded me a huge percentage of the time
BUT I ALWAYS HAD A FEELING THAT THERE WAS A DIFFERENT WAY- I SAW THAT OTHER PEOPLE
WERE HAPPY AND I WANTED TO KNOW HOW I TOO COULD HAVE A PIECE OF THAT LIFESTYLE..
I WENT ON A QUEST TO FIND OUT HOW AND I STARTED BY READING "THE POWER OF THE
SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND" BY DR. MAXWELL MALTZ AT 19 WHEN I WAS IN THE U S NAVY.
SINCE THEN, I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK. I BECAME A STUDENT OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND
I REALIZED THAT THE DESIGNER OF MY LIFE WAS ME, AND NOT MY CIRCUMSTANCES.
IT TOOK ME A VERY LONG TIME TO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES AGAIN, BUT MIRACLES ARE ALL AROUND US...I KNOW NOW THAT WE ARE ALL MIRACLES!
IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK INWARD AND FIND YOUR TRUE ESSENCE AND MEANING, IT WILL AMAZE YOU TO FIND THAT ALL ALONG YOU WERE ALWAYS CONNECTED TO A SPIRITUAL ENERGY THAT WOULD GIVE YOU ANYTHING THAT YOU ASKED FOR. IT IS THIS SPIRITUAL ENERGY THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO SEE THAT YOU ARE A MIRACLE AND THAT YOU CAN CREATE GREAT MIRACLES ANY TIME YOU NEED THEM BY USING THE POWER OF YOUR MIND.
THE SPIRITUAL GURUS CALL THIS "THE LAW OF ATTRACTION" - WHATEVER YOU THINK ABOUT AND GIVE ENERGY TO, YOU BRING ABOUT IN YOUR LIFE... THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CONTROL WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT AND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT IT AND HOW MUCH YOU CAN FOCUS ON IT.
I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING AND IMPLEMENTING THIS PHILOSOPHY FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND IT HAS LED ME TO ACHIEVE MANY THINGS IN MY LIFE THAT I WOULDN'T OTHERWISE HAD BEEN ABLE TO IF I HADN'T DISCOVERED THIS AMAZING LAW OF ATTRACTION, SUCH AS;
-GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL
-HONORABLY DISCHARGED BY THE NAVY
-HAPPILY MARRIED FOR OVER 25 YEARS
-MANAGED A BUSINESS
-BECAME AN ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL/COUNSELOR
-BECAME A SUPERHERO IN A COMIC BOOK
-BLACK BELT IN TAEKWONDO
-AUTHORED SEVERAL BOOKS
-ATTAINED A SENSE OF GRATITUDE
-HAVE A LOVE OF LEARNING
I AM SO HONORED TO HAVE GOTTEN IN TUNE WITH THIS AMAZING ENERGY AND I WOULD LOVE TO HELP OTHERS GET IN TUNE WITH THEIRS TOO. I HAVE HAD MANY GREAT ROLE MODELS AND MENTORS ALONG THE WAY, AND I TRULY BELIEVE THAT A GREAT COACH CAN ALWAYS HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS - MIRACLES!
MY GOAL AND PASSION IS TO BE A GREAT COACH AND AN INSPIRATION TO OTHERS WHO ARE SEEKING TO LEARN HOW TO USE THEIR AMAZING POWER WITHIN THEMSELVES TO ATTRACT ANYTHING THEY WANT INTO THEIR LIVES. UNTIL NEXT TIME, "PUT A LITTLE MAXPOWER INTO YOUR LIFE!"
