How often do you allow yourself to be silly? How often do you allow yourself one of those much needed super laughs-the ones that make you shed tears out of joy and make you feel like you just let go of a lot of senseless stuff? You just let go and you don't care who is watching and you can't stop smiling about it the whole day!
Most doctors, therapists, and life coaches agree that being silly, smiling, and laughter have positive health sustaining powers. I agree- how can you be depressed and be laughing at the same time? You can't- and if laughter is better for us, wouldn't it make sense to try and figure out what can make us smile and laugh more often? You bet it does! In big moments of crisis, puppies have come to the rescue! Why? Cause puppies are cute and they make you smile.
What are the things that make you smile? For me- it is inspirational stories, books, funny movies, jokes, a beautiful smile from my children and family, a warm hug, an inspirational quote, technology, love, appreciation for good health, an unexpected loud burp, a butterfly flying freely, a turtle eating lettuce, a dog being nice to a cat, art in the clouds, beautiful sunsets, super windy days, a great golf shot, a refreshing shower, my opportunity to serve as an educator, a great conversation with a friend that I love and respect, comfortable shoes, a person's laughter, a parking spot that opens up, a great song, and life! I am so fortunate to be able to be grateful and aware that I can choose to smile and know that I am worthy of my power to smile and to be silly!
Once you discover the healing properties and benefits of not taking yourself and life too too serious, wow- the magic begins! You will be amazed at what can make you smile! It is you that will be responding and no longer reacting to things that can easily bother you! You will smile when someone spills milk or when someone leaves the cap off of the toothpaste, and etc. because you will feel a different appreciation for life. And this is the only life you have right now! Live it, feel it, and give yourself the opportunity to have those laughs that make you go pee in your pants!! It is very healthy for you!
With that said,"Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
