Hi MaxPower 2U nation! Today's blog has to do with drawing a blank. We all have and all of us will experience it again in our lives. It's the moment when you're writing a paper, working on a project, taking a test, or even writing your own blog and you forget or can't think of anything to be able to move forward. It can be a frustrating and anxious experience, but this doesn't have to be the case.
While there are people that give in to that frustration and either give up, complain or spend too much time bumming out about it, you must choose to be a person that can take any circumstance and create anything positive or successful with it. In order to do that, you must first tell yourself that the words or thoughts are already in your head and that you just need a break or step away from it for a bit while those words and thoughts come to you. By doing this, you will convince your mind that it is only a matter of time before you come up with whatever it is you needed to come up with.
The great thing is that you always have everything you need in your mind at your disposal, sometimes you just need a little extra encouragement, time to step away, friend time, food, etc. Your mind already holds what you need and just needs some extracting strategies at times. Because our mind doesn't necessarily work like a computer, we must use unique and clever tactics at times to be able to let the words flow out that we want to say.
This example is best described by a songwriter. They don't always have the right words they want to say or know what to write next. They too need to step away some times to be able to let the phrases and creativity come back to them. Keep in mind that stepping away doesn't mean go hang out all day and then come back hours later. It means taking a short break to let the brain settle down a bit and then come back to continue what you were doing.
The most important thing to remember is that whatever it is you're working on is already inside your head, you just need to let it come to you. And though it might get a bit frustrating, the benefits far out way the few moments of angst. So take your time and give your mind a moment to deliver. It will erase your blank.
With that said,
"Put a little MaxPower in your life!"
