I never thought that I would end up trying the starving method or intermittent fasting in my lifetime. I saw the word fasting and all I could think about was starving. I love to eat too much to starve myself, especially Mexican and Filipino food. But then, the blood results were in and it reported nothing bu bad things about my health. For years, I have been in denial and I have tried to fight the fact that I have to watch what I eat, exercise on a regular, and take a whole bunch of meds. I was already exercising a lot, but the other two things on the list were always challenging. I somehow felt like I was going to become a statistic unless I truly got a handle on my health.
I made it a mission to do the research and figure out which method or strategies were going to be the most beneficial for me. There’s a ton of research that intermittent fasting can reverse the negative effects of Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, and other debilitating diseases. I was listening and I wanted to know more. The next great thing that happened, was that I met one of my mentors, Tom Bilyeu, in person during ComicCon in San Diego this past year and he talked extensively on the positive effects of fasting on his instagram and YouTube channel. He has done major research and interviewed many experts in health and nutrition. I completely respect his philosophy of life and approaches to things so it was very easy to talk to him about it when I saw him. He made me realize that anyone could do it, but he said that only a few will choose to do it. I felt challenged and although it took me about 6 months to decide, here I am reporting out my 3 week progress.
