How many second chances have you had? How many second chances have you given? I believe second or even third chances depends on the person, the circumstances, and on where the person stands in his own journey of life. We don’t tend to tell a child to give up on their quest to go from crawling to walking. We give them unlimited chances. For athletes that go all out but still have a sub par performance, we don’t quit on them, we tend to give them several more opportunities to do much better next time. But for the person who violates a sacred value such as cheat on a girlfriend or boyfriend, the chances we give them are not too likely. But why not? There’s a level of commitment made that cannot be violated between two people and once that commitment is compromised, we tend to lose faith/trust in that other person, therefore limiting any chance at proving themselves worthy of another chance.
Life is always about sleeping and waking into another reality of having another chance to do things differently. You’ve got to allow yourself a second chance that. Is going to be beneficial to you and those who are positively affected by your new opportunity to make a different choice. With Love, Joe
