How’s it going MaxPower2U family! Have you ever questioned yourself- Who am I, and why am I? You’re not alone- it’s the power of your ability to ask. Who do you think you are? Why do you think you are that person? Who have you modeled after to become who you are? Or do you have a great sense of self just because? Do you identify more with your mom or your dad? Do you identify more with your pet, a lion, a shark, or a Tiger? Are you more like a monk, a rabbi, a nun, a rebel, a soldier, a politician, or a simple caring citizen? There are many parts to your identity, but Why- and how did we form them.
Where do we get our self identity? How is it formed? Identity is how you see yourself based on the physical, mental, cultural, economic, religious, and or spiritual parts of yourself.
An example that I can use is, I remember watching the great movie “Rudy” where Rudy’s Dad went to see him off at the bus station and shared with him the story of his grandfather and the dreams that he had. Ultimately, the Dad said that their dreams were shattered due to unforseen circumstances and that they took jobs in the local steel mills out of desperation. He said, “We are Ruddigers, we work in the steel mills and there’s nothing wrong with that”. But Rudy wasn’t buying that, he wanted a new identity and was convinced that there was more to life and that his identity did not have to be limited to being a steel worker. He took the leap of faith and pursued his dream of playing football for Notre Dame. It wasn’t easy, but Rudy hung in there until he was finally allowed to suit up with the team and actually got to go in for a couple of plays. He was carried off the field by his teammates. He completely changed his identity and helped shape the identity of his younger siblings which all of them believed that they could go to college and earn their degrees also.
The great news is that we can always change our identities. The way we have defined ourselves or how we have taken others definition of us. We can learn new strategies to change the internal mental images that govern and control how we think about ourselves. I am in the process of writing a book called “The Eye of the Tiger - the CLAW Method”. I’m super excited about writing this book because it outlines some of the strategies that I have used to redefine myself and to strengthen my self worth and self identity. A person can win a million bucks, but if you don’t have the identity of a millionaire, you will most likely self sabotage your relationship with that millions dollars. You must be able to see yourself as a millionaire, think like a millionaire, and act like a millionaire. Then the millions will stick to you and then more will want to come to you. But if you are used to saying, “money really doesn’t matter”, guess what, money will not stick around because it will feel unaccepted and unappreciated. Try neglecting your wife, husband, or children- they will find other people to talk to, to make them feel appreciated and etc. The same is true about money! Make it a part of your self identity, your self worth and it will stick to you like super glue. The CLAW method stands for C- Clarity and to know exactly what it is you want, the L- Learn the law of attraction and find a mentor, the A- Awareness and Action, and W- Why Win, What is your purpose? Understanding the CLAW method, will make everything much clearer and it will give you the tools to help you develop a new self identity of confidence and value. You will be able to see and purchase the book from MaxPower2u.com or from Amazon.com.
Get super excited because when you take the necessary steps to invest in yourself, you will see the Magic work in your life and you will always feel that the Force is with you!!!
