What does this mean? It means that all the words that you speak have either rewards or consequences. Words have energy and every word that you speak, has an effect on what will happen to you in the present, the future and more importantly, to your mindset. This is true even with the words that seem most insignificant at times. Why is this an important awareness to have, and how am I so sure that this is a real phenomena? Well, before I go in to the specifics, let me give you the best example that I can give. In nature, when animals are out and about, whether they're hunting or just simply walking along in search of water, they are able to sense everything around them. From the slightest wind gust, smell in the air, to a fire miles away, or an earthquake that’s about to strike-everything! It seems as if though the easiest thing for them to sense is fear. They can literally smell fear from miles away. Basically, they can amazingly sense any type of vibration that is put in to the air! I truly believe that this is why people nowadays have come up with so many tricky and elusive ways to hunt animals using their dogs!
So why do I bring this up and why is this relevant to why the spoken word has such an effect on us? Think of the vibrations that animals are able to sense compared to the spoken word. If a deer in the woods is putting off a vibe of fear, than more than likely a predator is already on the prowl for them. But if they are just going about their business and walking along a creek, chances are they are feeling safe. So basically, when an animal puts off a fear vibe, they are more likely being preyed upon (consequence), where as if they are just going about their business and not putting off that kind of vibe, they usually get to drink water from the creek (reward), without any problems.
Just as animals can detect vibrations, we also have the capacity to sense the vibes and be affected by the words that others, and especially ourselves, speak. For example, when a person says to themselves, “Can things get any worse for me today,” or, “What else is gonna wrong today?”-these people are already setting in motion the negative things that are more than likely to happen to them which they themselves have implanted in their own minds. Your mind is very powerful and will set in motion automatically through the (subconscious), the actions that you yourself think are more than likely going to happen because of what you see in front of you at the moment. That is of course unless you do something about it. If someone that was in a jam or had something unfortunate happen to them said instead, “I can get through this. This is only temporary,” or, “This too shall pass. I’m a strong person,” then their mind will convince itself that it can and will act accordingly. Your mind will automatically start to set in motion the thoughts and actions necessary to create both a positive outcome and a life lesson for years to come. When you say to yourself, “I can’t do this,” your mind and body respond accordingly. When you say to someone else, “You’re not good enough,” you are feeding their mind with negative vibes and thoughts that will convince them that maybe they aren’t good enough. This is more evident in children. When a child is first learning to play a sport or trying to learn to ride a bike, they need constant reinforcement and encouragement through all the missteps, mistakes, and errors they will make. They need to be made felt like what is happening is not that they aren’t good enough or they can’t learn or do something, but that they, with every mistake or misstep, are one step closer to doing it. But if they are told every time they don’t get something right, that they aren’t good enough, than it will crush their spirits, perhaps even discouraging them and eventually convincing them that they can’t do it and that they really aren’t good enough.
I can go on to give you countless examples of how the spoken word has great power and meaning in our lives, but it’s really up to you to believe that this is something that you believe to be true or not. This is a real phenomena, and the sooner you realize it's potential for personal empowerment and apply it accordingly, the sooner you will experience its fruits.
With that said, "Put a little MaxPower into your life!"
