Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? Why, you may ask? If you've been alive these past couple of weeks, you can agree that everyone's blood pressure raced a bit quicker out of fear, uncertainty, anger, dis-belief, resentment, and other negative emotions that come from experiencing traumatic events in the news and your own personal events! We've been bombarded, pardon the expression, by such frightful things lately. The talk about North Korea and their rebellion toward nuclear weapons testing, terrorist attacks, extreme weather, etc. etc!! Even the Yogi's have raised an eyebrow I'm sure! This is why I know that we have to keep our mental and physical health in check in order to combat feelings of deep stress that can have severe negative consequences on our lives and the lives of those we love!
I try to check my own blood pressure every now and then because I want to know that my life plan is working the way it should or to make a few adjustments to get it back on track. The great thing is- is that when you are directed by your doctor to make some life adjusents and you do, they actually work! I've known too many people who would rather rely on medication instead of putting a simple health and body tune up system in place for their own benefit! Do you know anyone like this? Maybe it's even you! The reality for many is that they are quick to say that it's too hard! Is it? Heck yes! It is super challenging and means a lot of work and dedication will be required on top of all the other hard and demanding work that is already bogging you down! Dang- that line alone took a lot of work to write! Lol!
But the most serious question is- Are you worth it? Are you worth trying to figure out a way to maintain a healthy balance so that you can free yourself from intense pressures that bog you down? Are you deserving of a life style that will give you more energy and spunk to be able to come home, eat and then attend your children's extra curricular activities? Are you worth working on your mental and physical health so that you can be healthy enough to be around for your grandchildren? Your damn right your worth it!
So unless you are a yogi or someone who consciously and constantly is working on how to stay calm and patient, we've got to get to work! As you already know, there are forces that either help to quicken the flow of blood and forces that slow the flow of blood throughout your circulatory system. The body needs to maintain a balanced blood flow because the blood is what carries all the vital nutrients and vitamins that support cell rejuvenation which sustains our life!
The daily grind of life itself can be made more simple and can be mastered so that you can give yourself strategies to cope with the harsh pressures of life! Life is going to happen to all of us and the beauty is still choice!
1. Turn off the news
2. Read or watch positive material
3. Exercise regularly
4. Maintain a nutritious diet
5. Be creative- create
6. Live with an attitude of gratitude
7. Spend quality time with friends and family
9. Laugh often
10. Check your blood pressure regularly!
